OUR ORGANIZATION
Human Rights activities Project GayRussia is a full member of the "International Gay & Lesbian Association" (ILGA) and its Brussels based European unit "ILGA-Europe".
As a full member of ILGA, Project GayRussia takes part to the regional and world conferences of the organization. On this occasion, we attend the various seminars and workshops, exchange views and make new contacts with other foreign organizations. We also elect the board and the representatives of both organizations.
From April 2005, Project GayRussia is the official coordinator of the "International Day Against Homophobia" in Russia (IDAHO) which takes place every May 17th.
In November, Nikolai Alekseev, head of the project GayRussia, has been appointed Executive Secretary of the "IDAHO Committee" non-profit organization registered in Paris (France) and then early 2006, he became Vice-President, in charge of promoting the events organized by the committee.
In May 2006, Project GayRussia has organized the first ever "Moscow Pride Festival" during which the first Russian Gay Pride took place. IDAHO was invited as guest of honnour of the first festival. The initiative which was announced in July 2005 took place despite threats and denial by the local authorities to allow and protect the event.
In July 2006, Project GayRussia became a member of InterPride and EPOA, the two organizations of "Gay Pride organizers" in the world.
In May 2007, Project GayRussia organized together with LGBT Rights the second "Moscow Pride Festival" and invited the Brittish group OutRage! as a guest of honnour.
Project GayRussia is the most active Russian advocate group on LGBT issues. Lifting gay ban blood, organizing the first ever Moscow Gay Pride, holding protest against killings of gays in Iran, Project GayRussia is all of the fights.
In 2007, Project GayRussia formed together with 7 other Russian LGBT and LGBT friendly groups, the Russian LGBT Coalition. The members of the coaltion took part in the organization of the second Moscow Pride festival.
News agency in English language for Russian LGBT events One of our objective has always been to raise the visibility of Russian gays & lesbians abroad in foreign medias. To achieve this, we regularly broadcast to all our media partners, news about gay & lesbian life in Russia.
Project GayRussia is answering media requests from foreign and Russian journalists about gay life in Russia as well as commenting recent events.
On a regular basis we perform exclusive public opinion polls on gay & lesbian issues in Russia.

Project GayRussia gave interviews to the following radios and TV : CNN, BBC, Echos of Moscow, RTL, CBS, NBC, Radio Liberty Europe, Pure FM, Pink TV, and San Francisco Gay TV.
It is estimated that the "Moscow Pride '06 Festival" had a coverage of more than 1 billion around the world after the events that took place on May 27th in the streets of Moscow.
