Human Rights activities
Project GayRussia is a full member of the "International Gay & Lesbian Association" (ILGA) and its Brussels based European unit "ILGA-Europe".

As a full member of ILGA, Project GayRussia takes part in the regional and world conferences of the organization. On this occasion, we take part to the various seminars and workshops, exchange views and make new contacts with other local organizations. We also elect the board and the representatives of both organizations.

From April 2005, Project GayRussia is the official coordinator of the "International Day Against Homophobia" in Russia (IDAHO) which takes place worldwilde every May 17th.

In November 2005, Nikolai Alekseev, head of the project GayRussia, has been appointed Executive Secretary of the "IDAHO Committee" non-profit organization registered in Paris (France). He is in charge of promoting the events organized by the committe. In 2005, Belgian parliament has officially recognized the IDAHO in its calendar. In 2006, France has followed.

Project GayRussia is answering media requests from foreign and Russian journalists about gay life in Russia as well as commenting recent events.

On a regular basis we perform exclusive public opinion polls on gay & lesbian issues in Russia.

Our news are distributed and republished by foreign LGBT medias such as British ukgaynews.org.uk, French Tetu and E-llico, Australian Pink Publishing, Swiss 360.ch, Gayromandie.ch, Swissgay.ch, German Queer.de , American 365gay.com, Dutch Gay Krant or Sweedish Qx.se.

Non gay medias occasionally re-print our informations (BBC, San Francisco Chronicle, Toronto Star) as well as English, French, German and Russian blogs.

Project GayRussia gave interviews to the following radios and TV : BBC, CNN, APTN, Echos of Moscow, Radio Liberty Europe, Pure FM, Pink TV, and San Francisco Gay TV.
